The Lavender Vera plant, scientifically known as Lavandula angustifolia, is a perennial herb renowned for its aromatic qualities and vibrant purple flowers. This plant is native to the Mediterranean region and has been cultivated for centuries due to its numerous benefits and applications in gardening, aromatherapy, and culinary arts.

One of the primary advantages of incorporating Lavender Vera into a garden is its ability to attract pollinators. Studies indicate that lavender can attract up to 30% more bees and butterflies compared to other flowering plants. This is particularly beneficial for gardeners aiming to enhance biodiversity and support local ecosystems.

Lavender Vera is also known for its drought-resistant properties. Once established, this plant requires minimal water, making it an excellent choice for sustainable gardening practices. Research shows that lavender can thrive in well-drained soils with low moisture levels, which can reduce the overall water consumption in a garden by approximately 20%.

In addition to its ecological benefits, Lavender Vera has a variety of uses in the home. The essential oils extracted from its flowers are widely used in aromatherapy for their calming effects. According to a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, inhaling lavender oil can reduce anxiety levels by up to 30% in individuals experiencing stress.

From a culinary perspective, Lavender Vera can be utilized in various recipes, including desserts, teas, and savory dishes. Its unique flavor profile adds a distinct floral note that can enhance the overall taste of a dish. However, it is essential to use culinary-grade lavender to ensure safety and palatability.

When cultivating Lavender Vera, it is crucial to consider its growing conditions. This plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, with a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. Proper spacing is also vital, as mature plants can reach heights of 2 to 3 feet and spread up to 4 feet wide. Adequate air circulation around the plants can help prevent fungal diseases, which are common in humid environments.

In conclusion, the Lavender Vera plant is a valuable addition to any garden. Its ability to attract pollinators, drought-resistant nature, and versatile applications make it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. By understanding the specific needs and benefits of Lavender Vera, gardeners can create a thriving and sustainable environment that enhances both aesthetics and functionality.

Good sunscreen
Style: SPF 50
Super good coverage and it lasts a long time in the sun and even through water activities. The only negative is the white cast. Not as bad as others but just be aware it doesn’t fully rub in.

Great sunscreen & works for kids - even used in resorts!
Style: SPF 50
Terrific! I don’t feel it is as good as chemical ones but my favorite non-chemical one. Used on a long vacation and it did the job! Also didn’t cause pimples like other thick versions of this.

Protection
Style: SPF 50
I love this product, especially my husband because it’s all-natural. It contains minerals that leave a slight white residue on the face. While it would be nice to have a clearer texture, it does a beautiful job of protecting you from the sun.

Worked well near the equator
Style: SPF 50
I bought this product because I was going to be in the field for a month, outside, every day, all day, in Tanzania at high altitude. A severe sunburn would be hard to treat in the remote area we were in, but also I am very careful about protecting my skin from aging. I had to have mineral based sunscreen because as a whitewater kayaker I know it’s the only truly water resistant kind and it was going to be sweaty. And since I knew I was going to be putting it on every day, and we didn’t have running water in the field (bucket showers only) I didn’t want it to feel gross. (I really wanted to try the spray but I didn’t want to put anything pressurized in my luggage.) And I had already discovered the Coola face sunscreen (30spf version) which had impressed me with how silky smooth and not greasy it is. Now this IS greasier because it is a higher SPF. BUT I think this product is as good as you’re going to get with the protection you’re getting. Like I said, I’m a white water tiger, so I have used a LOT of mineral sunscreens. This was hands down the most comfortable one I’ve used. And it was effective. I didn’t burn once—only time I did burn was when I forgot to put it on one day toward the end of the trip, when we were out for just a couple hours—and I got the first 2nd degree burn I’ve ever had in my life. That was what this stuff had protected me from, all day every day, the entire trip. I did tan a little but I think that was mostly from the few times I was not covered during short bouts or it was cloudy. For my face I used the Coola 50spf face product.

Love this stuff!
Style: SPF 50
I use this every day and I love how it is frangrance free and creamy. I have a very fair complexion and I will say it leaves a slight white cast but it doesn’t bother me because it almost makes my fairness more creamy looking. My skin texture has improved since wearing it daily and no allergies from it. I highly recommend especially if you have fairer skin otherwise it may leave a cast .
