Big News from BoKnowsWeather

New Sites, New App, and a New Professional Portal

Hello everyone!

Meteorologist Bo Cole here. I’m thrilled to share some major updates about BoKnowsWeather and introduce you to our new sister brand, The Weather Agency. For those who have followed me since 2012, thank you for your incredible loyalty and trust over the years. Your support has allowed me to grow BoKnowsWeather into the reliable, independent weather service it is today. Now it’s time to take things to the next level!

Two New Websites: Fresh, Modern, and Ready for You

First, I’m proud to announce that BoKnowsWeather.com has launched its third major redesign. You can see the updated site here: https://boknowsweather.com/. This version is cleaner, faster, and better organized, making it easier than ever to access forecasts, updates, and all of our weather services.

Alongside BoKnowsWeather’s refresh, I’m excited to unveil The Weather Agency’s bold new website as well: https://theweatheragency.com/. This is the second iteration of The Weather Agency’s online presence, designed with a sharp, professional look and feel. The Weather Agency is not just a new name—it’s a formal expansion of the professional weather services I’ve offered in the past. It’s where I’ll be growing my commercial weather consulting work, providing more tailored solutions for businesses, municipalities, and organizations who need detailed, actionable weather insights.

Why The Weather Agency?

While BoKnowsWeather remains the heart of my personal forecasting and community outreach, The Weather Agency is a spin-off brand designed specifically for professional marketing and client work. This new arm will offer more formal, data-driven, subscription-based services that go beyond what a typical social media forecast or blog post can provide. It’s a natural evolution for a business that’s been trusted for over a decade, built to serve clients who need dedicated support, accuracy, and expertise for their planning and operations.

The New App: A Fresh Build from the Ground Up

One of the biggest announcements today is about the BoKnowsWeather app. After running into some challenges with the last (new) build and realizing the old app couldn’t be repaired or maintained to the standard you all deserve, I’ve decided to start fresh. We’re building a completely new app from the ground up.

This new app will be a joint branding venture between BoKnowsWeather and The Weather Agency. It will feature:

  • Push notification warnings
  • Direct messaging
  • Updated radar and satellite imagery
  • SPC outlooks and data
  • Many other cutting-edge features

Our goal is to ensure 99.9% uptime—a huge improvement over the previous app—and to make this a tool you can rely on during severe weather events. For now, the app will remain free to download and use, supported by advertising. We’ll also be offering ad space within the app for local businesses and sponsors who want to reach our engaged, weather-aware audience.

We’re working hard on development and aiming for a launch date by October 2025. Expect more updates as we get closer to release!

The Weather Agency Client Portal: Premium Tools for Serious Users

I’m also thrilled to share that we’re launching a brand-new, professional-grade client portal through The Weather Agency. This portal will be available for paid subscribers only, with pricing to be announced soon.

Key features will include:

  • Detailed, updated road conditions for planning travel and logistics
  • Seasonal operations planning support for winter and summer needs
  • Radar and alert functionality with customizable overlays and layers
  • Two-way messaging with me (or a member of my team) for live meteorological consultation
  • Notification settings to ensure you get critical weather updates exactly how you want them

This will be available via desktop and mobile/tablet web access, making it easy to use whether you’re at a dispatch center, in the office, or on the move.

We’re targeting October 2025 for the portal’s launch as well. If you’re a municipality, snow removal contractor, fleet manager, or anyone else who needs high-quality, custom weather support, stay tuned—it’s going to be a game-changer.

I truly appreciate your support over these many years. I know that BoKnowsWeather wouldn’t be where it is today without such an engaged, loyal community. Whether you’re following my Facebook posts, checking the forecast on the new site, or planning to use our upcoming professional services, thank you for trusting me with your weather needs.

Please check out the new websites, share them with friends and colleagues, and keep an eye out for future announcements about sponsorship pricing, app features, and the portal launch.

Stay safe, stay weather aware—and thank you for choosing BoKnowsWeather and The Weather Agency!
